1001cuts

1001cuts explores the careers of the daughters of Title IX through the experiences of surgeons. Social and cultural change in the 1970's allowed for the opportunity to train and be included into this high stakes professional environment. This film documents the pervasive stereotypes and gender-based discrimination that persist within workplaces designed for, and still controlled by men. Within medicine and surgery, the failure to apply culture change has had wide ranging impacts on the careers of women, the healthcare system, and the patient care experience.

Dolly's Room Dolly's Room

Dolly's Room

When 17 year-old Dolly befriends a popular ‘bad girl,’ she wants to dump her friend Alexa, but that's always easier said than done. After Alexa convinces Dolly to let her tag along to a party, Alexa surprises everyone but herself when she turns out to be wilder than she seems –– all the way into Dolly's bedroom.

Against the backdrop of Dolly’s evolving identity, this film is a forced coming-of-age story where Dolly learns how quickly trust can be broken and leaves her questioning the ambiguity of her friend’s intentions.

Despite the dangers, they undertake a perilous journey to Poland, in an attempt to flee persecution in 1948 soviet union amidst ongoing antisemitism. Terrified for their lives, they get on a train ride to a new country and hold true to their faith for a better life.
