During Scotland’s witch trials in the 17th century, an infamous witch pricker struggles to execute a particularly clever witch when their true identity is at risk of being exposed.
In 1660s Scotland, an infamous Witch Pricker is brought to
Auldern by the town’s magistrate to garner confessions of
witchcraft from three women.
It quickly becomes clear, however, that the motivations for
killing these women is not justice or fear of witchcraft, but a
personal vendetta and power grab.
When one of the women discovers that the Witch Pricker is
actually another woman in disguise, the Witch Pricker has to
decide what justice really looks like when her own safety is
at stake. Will she kill an innocent woman to save her own life
and reap the rewards, or will her overcommitment to safety
and order erode in time?
