A dancer is forced to perform with her ex-best friend while grieving the recent death of her grandmother. She searches for closure while trying to understand her relationships to these two women now lost to her.
A dancer, Jo, agrees to participate in a self-made piece as a favor to a choreographer friend of hers. In doing so, she agrees to perform with Victoria, a fellow dancer who used to be Jo's best friend. While developing this new dance, Jo is also processing the loss of her grandmother. The two did not have the best relationship, and Jo struggles to express her mixture of emotions in the way she wishes she could. This creates a rift between Jo and her sister, Shannon, who cannot understand Jo’s distancing herself from the entire situation. The frustration of this misunderstanding, combined with repeatedly confusing interactions with Victoria, leads to Jo’s eventual emotional demise. The film culminates with the choreographer’s dance piece, though it doesn’t necessarily go as planned.
