The Friend
Short FilmNanni is a London-based storyteller passionate about narratives that entertain, educate, and inspire a childlike curiosity and sense of adventure. As a writer and director, she focuses on developing meaningful narratives that explore important issues while offering a respite from the mundane. Nanni holds a BA (Hons) in Media and English Literature and graduated from Raindance London's MA in Filmmaking program with Distinction in 2023 where she developed her first short film “Ask.” - a poignant feminist critique of the current systems in place to protect women from sexual harassment. The film was awarded Best Thriller at the Tottenham Film Festival. In addition to her work as a writer and director, Nanni has also served as a script supervisor on various short and feature-length projects, where she has collaborated with award-winning directors and has learned valuable tips from them. The Friend is her second directorial effort and is currently being submitted to festivals for recognition.
Lizzie Worsdell is an actress and producer who gained an Associate’s degree from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, Los Angeles and a Masters in Filmmaking (Distinction) from Raindance, London. After working as an actress in London and LA, she made her producing debut on the short film “Disarm” starring Sophia Myles. Several of her films have been successful on the festival circuit including BAFTA and BIFA qualifying ‘The Carer’ directed by Game of Thrones’ Amrita Acharia and starring Industry’s Priyanga Burford. Lizzie is passionate about making female-centred work and representing a side of society that isn’t typically shown on screen. She founded her own production company Eldub Films in 2020 and started working as Supervising Producer at Big Finish Productions in 2022.
