Dirty Towel
Short FilmCallie Carpinteri is an award-winning LA-based writer/director originally from South Florida. While studying film at the University of Florida, Callie interned at numerous development and production companies where she gained insightful knowledge on independent filmmaking and storytelling. In 2022, Callie was the recipient of the highly competitive Television Academy Internship Program for the Scripted Development category. Her two thesis short films, “Indecision” and “The Aftermath,” both of which Callie wrote and directed, screened and won numerous awards in the festival circuit including a Student Production Award by the NATAS Suncoast Regional Emmys. In 2023, Callie co-wrote and directed her first independent short, a coming-of-age comedic drama titled, “Dirty Towel” that premiered at the 2024 Tribeca Festival. As a young, female filmmaker, Callie’s passionate about telling complex, female driven stories that empower women and inspire conversation. She’s also committed to the representation of women both in front of and behind the camera. Callie’s currently looking to develop “Dirty Towel” into a feature film, while working on other narrative film and television projects.
