CROWN
Short FilmDash was born in Moscow. Her fascination with photography began at the age of 4. The decision to pursue acting and filmmaking naturally evolved from the curiosity about people, storytelling and moving image. Before immigrating to the United States, Dash spent some time in Europe, London and a year in Egypt. In Moscow she ran a production company SnowFork with a focus on editorial and commercial photography, creating cover stories for Elle Ukraine, L’Officiel Ukraine and Playboy, just to name a few. In 2010 she relocated to Los Angeles to study acting under Gregory Berger-Sobeck, Yale Drama School graduate and faculty member. After six years on the West Coast, Dash moved to New York. Brooklyn, where she finds most of her stories and endless inspiration, became her home. In summer 2020 Dash had her debut as a cinematographer, creating a full length documentary film Inside Color, that was released in 2021 and received a few festival nods. Dash’s latest narrative short film CROWN held its West Coast premiere at the inaugural World Culture Film Festival in Los Angeles. It was awarded Best Short Film 2024 alongside Tom Holland (Award for Performing Arts) and Oscar-nominated Director Pawo Choyning Dorji (Best Feature Film & Luminary Awards). She has a few different project in various production stages.
