Documentary FeatureEliza has been working as a director in the UK for over 12 years after having completed an MA in Cultural Studies and German Literature at Humboldt University Berlin in 2006 and an MA in Feature Film at Goldsmith University of London in 2007. In 2008 Eliza incorporated her production company Rainstar Productions in London and has directed and produced several short films and commercials under its umbrella. In 2013 Eliza was nominated for the IMDB New Filmmaker’s Award for her short film Chronophobe. After her short films had been selected by various renowned International Film Festivals, Eliza joined forces with producer Rajita Shah in 2017 to develop her first feature film, comedy drama Love Sarah. Love Sarah was shot in 2019 on location in London’s vibrant Notting Hill and has sold through sales agent Film Seekers to over 53 countries for theatrical release to date. When Love Sarah released in New Zealand in June 2020 it became the No 1 Box office hit for over two weeks despite the challenges of the Coronavirus pandemic. Love Sarah went on to be within the top five films on Netflix UK in the Summer of 2022 and within the top 10 films on iTunes UK and Apple TV USA where it was released through Samuel L. Goldwyn. Based on the success of the European release, Spanish Production company Frida Films are remaking the feature in Spanish based on the UK version of the film. In February 2023, Eliza has completed her documentary Colliding Forces - Mothers in Ballet which is now being sold through Indigo Entertainment. Colliding Forces had its world premiere at a special International Women’s Day screening at the Royal Opera House in London in March 2024 and has just won the Leslie J. Sacks Best Documentary Award at the Women’s Voices Now Festival in LA. Eliza is currently developing two features and a television show.
